Alex F. DeMatteis, Assoc. DBIA, serving as Executive Vice President, is integrally involved with all aspects of the organization. With his experience working with the construction affiliate of The DeMatteis Organization, Mr. DeMatteis brings a sophisticated building perspective to the development effort. By working closely with other members of the executive team, Mr. DeMatteis provides a coordinated approach between the construction and development teams operating at the forefront of The DeMatteis Organization. Other responsibilities include prospecting and evaluating feasibility for potential new developments, while also providing asset management oversight of the existing properties in the DeMatteis portfolio.

Most recently, as part of The DeMatteis Organizations’ increased pursuit of design-build opportunities, Mr. DeMatteis was certified by the Design Build Institute of America and is working on all aspects of the design-build process, including an intimate involvement contract negotiations with clients and design partners.

In previous years, Mr. DeMatteis served as a Field Superintendent for Leon D. DeMatteis Construction Corporation. Duties ranged from site supervision, serving as liaison with various city agencies, and meeting aggressive schedules to complete construction on time. Also, Mr. DeMatteis served as the Indoor Air Quality Supervisor while overseeing the construction of P.S./I.S. 276, a 76,000 square foot, eight story public school in Battery Park City, N.Y. The $80,000,000 facility was the first school to be constructed under the parameters of the newly implemented Green Schools Guide. In the following years, Mr. DeMatteis helped lead the team responsible for the construction of the DSNY New Manhattan Districts 1/2/5 Garage, a $220,000,000, 425,000 square foot LEED Gold facility that serves as a truck storage and maintenance venue for the Department of Sanitation.

Mr. DeMatteis received an undergraduate degree of B.S. in Business Administration from the Villanova School of Business at Villanova University. In addition, Mr. DeMatteis also received an Advanced Graduate Certificate in Real Estate from the New York University Schack Institute.
